1984 300TD Hatch Window Seal Mystery

I just got back from the dealer and we were trying to figure out what part # the rubber seal is that holds the rear hatch window in place (I'm removing my window to repair rust and am going to replace the rubber seal while I'm at it). The part that came up on his screen was 2 pieces, each $250!!! I looked at mine and I'm certain it is only 1 piece.

Anybody else have experience with replacing this seal? If so, where did you buy yours and roughly how much was it? Thanks!

Phil's the man. Done and done, it was indeed one piece.

I reckon it is 2 pieces-the seal and the lock strip-AKA trim. go take a look- you'll see what I mean.

I like to try and patronize the sponsors here. Plus, everytime I've called him, Phil has been very helpful and the parts get here very fast.

i am sure they were looking at the chrome trim around the seal. just for future reference the mb part number is 123-740-06-56, that should apply to all 123 wagons
