How do you post big pictures on the forum?

Some of you guys attach pictures that are pics that people can actually SEE, like 8" x 8". How do you do that? The ones I attach, at the 65k limit, are like
2" x 2".

There are many sites out there, but I use photobucket.com. Its really easy to register and upload pictures from your comptuer.

Once they're uploaded, the website posts links, and you can use the links put them in the forum by clicking on the insert picture (looks like a mountain) on the post toolbar and pasting the link url in the box.

Gotta love technology.

Use an editing application and set the file size as you save it.

I can't remember how many old threads I've seen here that once upon a time had attached pictures, but don't any longer -- makes the post less helpful somehow. So, I've come to posting a detailed writeup with larger pictures on a blog. Here, I post a brief writeup and smaller pictures for those that might still be on dailup, and refer anyone wanting bigger pictures or a more detailed writeup to the blog entry.

The blog entry also allows people to print the writeup with the pictures, unlike the threads here which can't be printed with pictures. I don't know about others, but I find having a paper reference with pictures helpful to refer to when I'm in working on my car with my hands all dirty.

If I were industrious, I could probably read the blog HTML source and copy the image references for the blog pictures into my posts here.. but that requires everyone that reads the thread here to download the larger pictures, and having beed one of the dialup throwbacks until fairly recently, I'm still sensitive to such bandwidth hoggy issues.

right click on the photo - chose edit - it opens MS paint - click file, save as - and you're probably done.

that DRASTICALLY reduces the filesize....and for forum perusal, we'll never notice the difference (versus printing out an 8x10 photo).
