Expansion Valve wrapping

Hi
Does anyone one know what the expansion valve for the A/C is wrapped in?. It's some kind of tar paper.I need to re-wrap mine and would like to know where to get some.
Thanks

Some are just sealed in a molded-type foam. I think you could tie-wrap some pipe foam of similar around it if you wanted.....

When it was new, it was a foam-like material. After 20 years or so, it turns to tar. I doubt that you will find the part anywhere other than the dealer. And you will need two, despite what the dealer might say. It's a "clam shell" sort of arrangement.

It's some sort of cut foam. $5 from the dealer 2 years ago.

Why do you want to wrap it? It won't make anything cooler:

Condensation is the issue.

I just rebuilt the AC system on my 1972 250C and used this stuff. Works great and, with the exception of color, looks exactly like the factory tape.
