transmission shifting problems
I have read in the past about some adjustments that can be made on the 92 300Ds that would make the tranny shift somewhat smoother, anyone out there know what exactly I need to adjust? When I have the windows down, I can hear what sounds like a big sucking sound right as the transmission shifts, so i am thinking it is a vacuum problem?

There are a couple of things. First, the shift harshness is dependent partially on the pedal position (via the vacuum system). If the engine is not putting out as much power as it should for that pedal position, it will be harsh. If your car seems weak off the line, but starts to surge forward around 2100rpm, it is not the transmission that needs adjusting, it is the Alda.
Check all of the vacuum lines, search "mity-vac" or "mityvac" here, a small leak will have a large effect on shifting quality, no vacuum gets the harshest shifts. Next would be the adjustments to the vacuum system, you'll have to search here as there is a long thread on it, but honestly I've never had to adjust one in a 124 or 201 because once the vacuum leaks are fixed they shift perfectly!

i cant hardly get to the alda to adjust it, so I am thinking this may be something for the mechanic. I got no mityvac and dont know much about the vacuum system.
