82 300D Transmission
I need to replace the transmission in my 1982 300D. Does anyone know if this year has a cable or electronic speedometer? Any advice on a used transmission in the Denver area? I acquired this car from my in-laws. It has low mileage (96K), but the auto trans must never have been serviced, and is shot.

Post your symptoms. These transmissions typically last far longer than 92k miles. Many people mistake fixable problems associated with these transmissions as indications the transmission needs to be replaced.

Your speedo is cable driven. I would look for a rebuilt tranny, any used one is likely to have more miles than yours
