Mercedes newbie needs purchase help

How's it going all. I'm a newbie to Mercedes, but not to diesels. I currently own a '91 f350 7.3 IDI. There's a '90 300D w/ 2.5 turbo for sale near me and I'm interested in it. It has 215K on it, and the body is pretty good. I've taken it for a ride, and it rides nice, but at idle it vibrates like hell. It idles at 600 rpm, and it's real rough. But once it's up to 1000 rpm it smooths out nice. The guy is asking 3500 for it, which I think is a little high. Is the vibrating and rough idle ared flag, or something common, or easy fix. One more thing--how expensive is it for parts for these? I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Tooo much

A '90 with 215k for $3500, and with problems? Nah. Diesels have come down just in recent months due to the run up in diesel prices. Not but 3 months ago, someone offered me $7000 for my 1991 300d, but I turned it down, now wish I would have taken it. Mine only had 115k on it, and I keep it up real nice. In fact, the offer was from my mechanic.

Seems to me, I've seen some 1991's with 150k on them for about $4k here and there. So, a year older, more miles, and problems, nah. When I buy, I'm not looking for problems, but solutions.

If the 602 is the same as a 603 then it sounds like an issue with the idle computer, which is the only thing computerised. Price sounds reasonable to me. Best time to buy a diesel is now. When diesel prices for less than gas in the summer the diesel car prices will rise again.
