Talking Got my W126 fix today!

And it was as good as a nice cold German brew after a hot long day of work.

Took the SDL to the tire place to get new shoes put on, and back to my house on I95 to test the balance...on a closed section under controlled conditions...at legal speeds of course...in Germany

The balance is meh, I may have the dealer do them again when I get it alighned. The local shop does not have one of those handy dandy Hunter road force machines, the dealer does, and charges about 1/2 as much, go figure once in awhile the dealer is cheaper. Oh and the 245's in the back were a waste, don't really look any wider, maybe if I lay on the ground in front of the car I will see a difference.

Anyway I NEEDED a W126 fix in a bad way I havn't driven one since Thanksgiving! And I was actualy getting used to the Jetta which is scary! I actualy said to myself yesterday hmm this car is not so bad! Yeah that was a scary moment, thankfully a healthy dose of W126 fixed that. The long hood with a star at the end like God intended it; the power, the brakes, actualy having some meat around you, the silky smooth I6, RWD, a decent radio, climate control, comfortable seats, and ROOM! OH how I have missed you! I actualy drove 15 miles out of my way on the highway because I was just having so much fun!

Oh and here is my new desktop background, W126 porn.

As an added bonus I also drove an S320...if the S class isn't considered to be the best sedan in the world...it damn well ought to be. Driving a medicore sedan will remind one just how good they are.

I'm more of a 123 man, but that's a stout looking 126. Quite beefy I say. Jay

Porn

To those of us who grew up in the Northeast and now live in the Southwest, green trees and grass are better porn than the 126, which we can see here on almost a daily basis..

I like mowing. I usually volunteer to mow an enormous (like 2+ acres) field for my relatives during the summer. Nothing beats roaring through the grass on a big o'l riding mower. Takes about 5-6 hours at a good speed to get it all....and like 4 gallons of gas.

I grew up in AZ, then NorCal.

When I transferred to Virginia, I had this idea to get a place with land....

I've now got the mowing down to 4.5 hours for 5 acres with a Kubota diesel tractor and a Woods 60" 3 pt hitch grooming mower.

I never in my life could imagine that the damned grass would grow THAT fast. Not to mention bushes and trees.

Good thing is, I can hide all my parts cars out in the back field.

Same here....except the rust/salt is also giving me a thing to "fix" on the car. I've had to do essentially nothing mechanical to it in ages....its getting boring! Probably why I want to fix the A/C....would be something to do. The P/S pump leaks down to the point of needing re-filling every 1000 miles or so.....but on the plus side it flings the oil all over the engine compartment and gives everything a rust proof coating!

Main things to fix are: Rust, re-glue some wood, A/C, and maaaybe the P/S pump if it gets any worse.
