Well after topping off yesterday and calculating my mileage I couldn't help but notice the jump in mileage. I went 344 mile with just 14.328 gallons (24mpg), and that was with traveling about 60% in town and 40% highway. Not bad for a 85 cali car.

A great relief to me as I just lost my job of 11 years

Inflate your tires to proper pressure, maybe just a little higher. Keep your air filter clean and maybe install a second one in parallel with the stock one. Try to reduce back pressure in the exhaust some how.

Your mpg beats my E300TD, by 1.35 mpg, clocking my last tank fill. But mine was primarily surface streets, hardly any freeway driving last tank.

My 1991 300d gets 30 city, 35 to 36 on the hwy. Phenomenal car.
