Best W123 turbo 300D I ever saw. (pic's added)
This diamond blue '85 Turbo is a time capsule car, a totally original, untouched, California blue plate local Sacramento '85 turbo with 121k on it. I drove it and for an old Diesel it is very very fast. About 11-12 seconds to 60 mph. Derek talked a grandfather out of it in a hardware store lot in Sacramento. He was the original owner whose children pressured him to get rid of it because it was "too slow" and to drive a Buick. It had been garaged and pampered from new by the one local owner who hated to let his "pet" go. If there was ever a perfect last year W123, this car is certainly it. If there were trophies for the best car, at our meet, this one would win first place, hands down. Derek should be arrested for Felony Grand Theft. He stole that car. Here is the kicker: He got it last year for $1,500. It could be worth TEN times that. That car is truly mint, absolutely perfect. I would love it in my garage. But he knows exactly what he has, and told me he wants to keep it forever. And he is 17 years old. The car is 23. This shot was taken on the way to the 2nd annual Northern California Mercedesshop Diesel drive this past weekend. Here is a link to a thread with more pic's and a video. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126-s-se-sec-sel-sd-sdl-class/1369727-cascade-freshly-restored-coupe-hits-road-pics-added.html
