You'll be buried alive if you fix that car.
I've seen much, much less damage, with an intact front bumper (implying no frame damage) get estimated way north of $5k. This would only be a deal IF you had another car with a major mechanical problem and could make one good car out of two. Jim

I had an 81 240d that I bought with similar damage and fixed myself. I had the frame straightened at a shop. Hit rf. My son drove the car for a couple of years and it got hit again, rf.
The second time the wrinkled steel seemed a bad idea to fix and I bought a car with a blown motor and switched them over. The airbags are an unknown to me, how much would they cost to fix? Tom W

Look at it like this, What can you buy an 95 W124 300D in your area for? I have seen 5K, up to maybe 8K.
What can you get this car for? Using top quality parts how much do you need just for parts, (I see about 3K-4K atleast), Figure in the labour, and in the end you end up with a 6K car that is only worth 5K, and you will have trouble reselling it later cause of the seriousness of the hit. Only reason to consider this is an engine swap or parts car.

Too bad it's not a turbo, that would make a good donor for a superturbo engine transplant.

I would hope that it wasn't rebuilt. NFW unless you ran it out of oil would a 606 need rebuilding that young. Also the chances of someone paying for a good rebuild are about nill, unless they got a crate motor from MB.
I'd pass unless you can get it for damn near free and are a body guy.
