Drive Belt size in 240D
Does anyone know or could tell me how I could figure out the correct size belt going to the power steering pump in a 1983 240D?

Remember that most places that sell replacement belts have a book to match belts and applications up. This is just in case you find youself stuck somewhere with a broken belt someday.
It is not uncommon to carry a spare belt or belts in the trunk on older cars. Many cars I buy already have had them. Even your old belt if kept can make an emergency spare. Takes very little room as well. It's just our cars are so old now a parts place might not have one in stock if you needed it out on the road. Saves a wait for one to arrive. |

I have goodyear on there now (what the car came with) and they seem to be working pretty well.

Yeah, if you get the chance, take the old belt in, and measure it.

Alright, got the right belt. So, could someone point me in the right direction for replacing it? I looked it up in the manual I have, but of course there's no info on it.

This is for a 126, but should be similar.
Loosen nuts 11, 12 and 13 #14 is the tensioner, loosen, install, tighten everything. The belt should go on fine, but if you get it just on and need to "walk" it on, just rotate the engine, clockwise as you look at it from the front of the car. I use a remote starter button, and bump it over. Crappy pics, I know. Check the rest of them while you're at it.
