Who got the 5 speed 300TD in DC?
There recently was a post in this section and in the cars for sale section of a car on Craigslist which was a 300TD with a 5-speed in Washington DC area. I was talking with the owner and said it sold yesterday. He was asking $2900. Who's the lucky person that got it? There were no pictures of the passenger side, and the drivers side looked like the lines were possbily a little funky.

I never got the chance to see it- my friend had called for the address and the guy said it was sold.

I looked at it. It was not bad but was repainted with some rust resurfacing. After peeling that away, some floor rust and water leaks fixed it would be a good car.
It drove nice and had some new parts. It was serviced by Mitch Carrs in Kensington which I hear is a very good shop. |
It was a station wagon ?
Was it normally aspirated ? What year was it ? |
turbo diesel euro wagon, cant remember the year but it was that off white color. Also had a 5 speed manual!!
|
yes a wagon, I assume NA, and I think an 84?
The key was that it was a 5 speed. I was "next on the list" but so far away and I just got another wagon yesterday. |
hmm, I could've sworn it was a turbo... John?
|
not with a manual trans if it was a factory original. I was under the assumption it was NA too.
|
I have a German Mercedes catalog from 1984 and according to it the turbos were only automatics.
|
Yes, Mercedes never sold a 617 turbo with a manual, every one of them was automatic.
|
It was normally aspirated.
