Does my 1990 300D use R-12? Found a good deal on some...
Just want to find out if my 1990 uses R-12. Found a can on Craig's --28lb for $240. My A\C blows a little warm. thanks

Originally - yes. Now - depends. Look at the ports. If you see threads, it should be R12, If it's a quick disconnect, it's converted to R134a. Jim |
Don't forget to fix the leak if that's what it is, or you'll just end up having to hunt down more R-12 before you know it.

I have to look at the ports--are these prone to leak in any specific area?
|
It must have been converted. Quick disconnect under the cap near the compressor. thanks for the info

in which year did the w124 come with a 134a system from the factory?
|
134 became mandatory in 94
not sure what year MB put it into service. I should say that 12 not in the car was mandatory in 94... I don't suppose they cared what you put in as an alternative... |
