new 116/ question about 123

I picked up an excelent 79 300sd today for a great price, this car is ten times better than my td(perhaps because this is the fastest diesel ive ever driven) but on the way to get it I bottomed out and punched a hole in my 123's lower oil pan, a freind has a 73 220d that he uses for parts how compatible are the lower oil pans?

Its been three hours with the sd and I'm inlove
thanks kindly
Adam

First, congrats on your new car. I love the over all luxury of the 116 compared to the 123. I know it's bigger inside than the 123. I feel cramped in the 123 compared to the 116.

I check part numbers for both cars (80 (79 for engine) and 73) and the numbers from Fastlane are the same so my final answer is maybe, probably.

Pics of your new car? I think it should be the law that if you get a new car you must post the announcement with PICS!!!

The EPC says that the 73 220D is a 615.912 motor and that it should be interchangeable with 616 and 617 non-turbos.

Cool

I post from my iphone because I dont own a computer with the Internet and unfortutatley the iphone doesn't allow me to post pics from the phone but the next time I'm at the library (I frequent them) I'll post some pics it had 258k when the odometer stopped but the engine was rebuilt in 2006 it has the original first aid kit, triangle, owners manual, the paint could be redone it is silver with black leather interior, the tach isn't working either, is this an easy fix?

Oh and thanks for looking up the parts for my 123 duhhh I always forget I can do that I love how responcice this car is I love it I love it I love it.
