Red face fuel sending unit w123 socket size?

What size soket is the fuel sending unit on a w123?
Mighty big id say? anybody know??

Channel locks work fine. It shouldn't be tight enough to damage the head.

Great then my 1 13/16 3.4 drive socket will do the job

46mm is right, same size as the tank screen.
