1936 260D Convertible

I am posting a link to the digital version of my 1936 260D US sales Brochure. The technical description and details are fascinating. Anyone who appreciates Mercedes-Benz diesel cars will be interested in seeing this. The Type 260D was the first diesel powered automobile. As you can see, MB produced (or at least threatened to produce) both 2 and 4 door convertible models. I have never seen a 260D. The brochure is written in The Queen's English, but the specifications are American style. I doubt that any 260Ds were delivered to the US or any other English speaking countries. If you know where one is(260D), please let me know. If there is a historian out there, please tell us about the design transitions from the 260D to the 170s diesel.

Thanks,

Some interesting pictures and info. I would love to find a sales brochure for my 83 300SD.

Old car literature dealers. Not a hot item. The last time I ordered a print of a painting for my 39 buick from one literature vendor. I also inquired about how much mercedes sales literature he had. Turned out quite a bit.
Prices seem to be 5.00-15.00. There was no trouble getting some for my 114 coupes. Seems to be several different pieces for the same year for many models.
Why not try ebay but under general car literature? Do not expect to find any items under mercedes literature alone as the volume of sales is small in my opinion and they do not list there. Post back your results as many others may be interested.
