Any making bio from fried chicken oil?

I had heard that any meat fried in the WVO was bad for the straight WVO and blends users. Is it the same for oil that will be treated to make bio?

Will treating the WVO remove the animal fats from the oil?

It will work - good filters of 3 micron will take care of a lot of the mess. Quite a bit depends on the restaurant and how often the change their oil. Chicken oil has the best exhaust smell!

There is a rumor going round about Oil extracted from Chicken Fat being used and causing harm. First of all its not Vegetable Oil that has been in contact frying chicken that the rumor got started from. But then it sort of morphed to a story about meat in cooking oil and so it grew a life of its own.

I doubt that anyone is taking the time and effort to extract oil from chicken fat. It, Chicken Fat, has great value in animal foods, not to mention human foods, just like it is. And if someone is making oil out of it they are probably not seeing a good return... but even if it is, if it was properly then converted to Bio Diesel it should be fine. If not properly converted then it (or any other oil with long chain fatty acids still present in it) would do exactly what this "rumor" portends to cause. Clogging. Where have we heard of that problem with burning Vegetable oils? Same thing.

So I seriously doubt the story or I believe someone maybe did screw up and the results are pretty predictable if they did. But it is nothing unique to Chicken Fat or Chicken fat derived oil or whatever started this thing. I got nothing more than this on it though. But we have made Bio Diesel out of oil that has fried Chicken and made some really good stuff from it. Particularly from Chik-Fil-A which changes its oil EVERY day for fresh oil. It makes great Bio Diesel. So there ya go.
