Causes of low indicated oil pressure at idle?

I thought it has to do with the O rings deteriorating on the filter shaft. Or the shaft itself sludged up. This is occuring on engines that rise to three bar quite easily. Yet idle at around .3 bar. I suspect the engines are not worn out either.
Could not locate something quick in the archives although I think it's there somewhere.

Mine read real low when the oil pressure sender was failing. A new sender fixed the issue.

Edit: looks like he's talking about a W123....so its probably an accurate reading....

Low idle pressure adequate pressure at higher rpm.
On many engines: Worn bearings (excessive clearances), oil dilution with fuel or coolant (leading to worn bearings), sticking/scored oil pump relief valve (or weak spring), oil overheated (oil cooler thermostat did not open no oil circulating through cooler), engine overheating that causes oil overheating, oil pump worn, engine idle rpm set to low, and?

My 603 exhibits this behavior ONLY after long, hard, hot runs on hot days.

Incorrect or defective oil filter might do that.

On these old engines I run straight 40 wt Delo 400... for exactly the worn , increased bearing clearance...
