Delo, Delvac, Rotella, and Rotella T can all be found and Walmart and purchased in gallons.

The previous owner of my car apparently used 10w30 because he's got a quick-lube sticker on the windshield. I assume that's all those places put in.

I will be using nonsynthetic Rotella (which is 15w30).

Anyone have any success with Mobil 1 Extended performance (the "15000 mile oil") in a 10w30?
I have been using it for about 10,000 miles (changed every 5000) and have had no problems that I can tell. I'm mainly just wondering if their is any advice against it.

What exactly make an oil Diesel Rated or not, I understand that there are different specifications for oils. Mobil one claims to meet these standards; ILSAC GF-4 ACEA A1/A5, B1/B5 API SM,SL/CF.
I don't see any of the aforementioned "I" or "J" post fixes to the oils certification. By not having the certifications of CI or CJ does that mean that this will not work in a Diesel engine, or just that it will not keep itself as clean as a "Diesel Rated" oil would. BTW this is all out of raw curiosity.
Also is there a full synthetic diesel rated oil on the market?

Not sure I would immediately assume that. My local (or at least the only one I will use) uses Rotella T 15w40 in all Diesel motors that come through there. One thing I do like about them.

Delo straight 40 or 15W30

All semi truck drivers use the Delo....that has to say something. When I had my manual 240D in southern California I ran straight 40 weight because I had alot of blow by. When I would use the 15W30 i could noticbly see my oil consumption rise. With the thicker oil, it doesn't allow as much oil to pass into the combustion chamber. It definatly depends on where you live....here I would run 15W30 only for december and january and then go back to the 40 weight.....it just depends on how much money you got.
