What do the parts places call a 'differential cover gasket'?
I searched Fastlane, ********, and google, and can't find it.
Does it exist? Anyone know the correct terminology? Or maybe even the part #? Thanks! i did see this thread saying to just use goop, but find it hard to believe there is no gasket... http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=198031&highlight=differential+gasket

The proper term for this gasket is: "Silicone sealant"

Brian is telling you there is no gasket. (I've asked the same question
 )As he says you use silicone. Put it on clean surfaces, not too much you don't want it inside, place the cover, tighten lightly wait a while, then tighten to specs.

I typically give the sealer 24 hours to set up before adding oil but I suspect that if time was tight I would just add the oil and go.

I would use a film of silicone sealant and not a layer of.. what ever gets squished out of the sides probably isn't good for the dif
|
