change-over valve disconnect?

1981 300d non-turbo euro...can the change-over valve on the valve cover be by-passed?...does this effect transmission right shifting?..right now i see vac line goin out of main brake booster line right to trans...looks different on site vac diagrams...this just egr or would it be for trans on my model?...thanks

looking again it does T off from brake booster to fitting that goes to trans and up to valve on valve cover...this effects shifting?

Post a picture if you can. There is so much jerry rigging to meet EGR emissions on some models that is can be difficult to tell what does what without looking at it.

hope pic is big enough...valve on top of valve cover...does it effect shifting?
