It's fine if there is a little air in it. Mine has a small bubble too.

It's about the size of a dime if a dime were spherical.

Once I tried getting it out....and failed.

Its normal.

On my car I am running a dealer MB pre-filter...which is long and white...can't see inside it. It has a little star on it.

The clear pre-filters are great because you can put the shop light behind it (603 engine) and see the screen inside to check for crud. I rarely need to change it.

Paper filters suck

Advance Auto Parts tries to sell me primary fuel filters with paper elements inside. These will collapse and cut-off your fuel with B100, they might work for dino-diesel.

The bubble is always there.
