Angry Oh, No! And with summer heat coming too!

I pulled into my driveway yesterday and turned of my AC, pushed the off button in right? Well, it didn't want to stay off, but the heat came on instead and I tried everything to get it to stop, right up until the pushbutton unit decided it was a really great time to eject it inner parts, buttons, springs, a couple of white sticks and a piece of metal that looked like the inside of a slide switch!

I had to pull the climate control out and disconnect it for the heat to go off! Why couldn't it just stay stuck on AC? I wouldn't have minded that, well the starter might have!

Oh, well! Looks like I'm going to spend some money today! It does have 286,891 miles on it!

I know there has been a thread about repairing these, but has anyone ever had this happen?

Quick

KR966,

Where you be at?

Any Pick and Pulls in your area?

Telephone German Potomac and see if they've a "Used but not Abused" unit.

The easiest (but not cheapest) is to get a rebuilt unit from GDL.

Arizona. I found a Remanufactured unit here in Phoenix! $200.00, not to bad, must be my lucky day!

Mine's the opposite, it doesn't get enough heat until I keep tapping it. Probably something loose, it works when it works, just not always
