Cruise Control Amplifier
where is the cc amplifier located on my 82 240D?

Under the dash, driver's side, just outboard of the steering column on my '79 with "tempmat" cruise control.

Just pulled mine recently (1983 300CD...I assume it's the same setup as yours).
Suggest if you pull it out, to unbolt the bracket first, rather than try to unscrew the two phillips screws first (they'll come out after you get the bracket out). I think it's about an 11 mm socket, use about a six to ten inch extension and your ratchet wrench. Put the ratchet over near the accelerator pedal and aim the socket to the left onto the bolt head. Pretty easy if you do it this way. Don't try to use a wrench on the nut...it is pressed onto the bracket and you will ruin it. |
Yea, what those guys said...
Its a silver box, about 4"x6"x1.5" (just guessing at the dimensions from memory) oriented vertically. There's two 10mm bolts that hold the bracket on and you can get those out with a ratchet and extension. Once you get the assembly out, you can take the bracket off the box. |
