Twitchy alarm on '87 300SDL, need new driver's side lock?
Twice in the week that I've owned this car (which is otherwise pretty fabulous ), the alarm's gone off after opening the driver door (I've been using only the master key). Cycling the driver lock again (door both open and closed) has had no effect. Both times I've been able to cycle the passenger lock once to stop the alarm.
The first time didn't worry me much; now I want to take action. Do I need a new lock assembly for the driver's side? Just a bit of rewiring?

You could start out by checking the plug connectors in the door for the alarm.
If you don't really car about the alarm, unplug the small box under the RF carpet/footrest marked Becker, the alarm will be disconnected.

Turning the key all the way to the stop might help.

That's good information; thank you. I'd never buy an alarm for a car; I didn't even know this car had an alarm until it went off the first time
