Self serve junkyards are almost always cheapest and often have good engines.

I have an 84 300SD I am parting out and would be willing to sell the engine. It starts and runs great and can be driven to verify. I will be taking accessories off the engine though and I need the trans and other stuff off the car. You can take the whole car after that if interested. PM me if you want more details. I live in St Louis, MO.

Is that a 617?Will any parts from my 300D attach to that engine. Please excuse my ignorance here.I only ask because I have acquired some engine parts from an 85 300D turbo and sadly things like turbo assembly will not fit without modification. How much will you be looking to get for that engine also?

Yes it's a 617 but as far as if parts from other years, models will be the same, I don't have an answer. Would you want the rest of the car or just the engine, do you want to drive it first and how soon are you looking to purchase. Please PM with answers or additional questions.

sadly here in western pa,no one seems to want to keep any of our loved diesels.I only have a 230E euro to pick off of at the moment. Most of the yards that seem to have them are in the south or the west/midwest.A little out of my neighborhood.....lol

Black and Gold pens, I prefer blue pens myself. I assumed you were a ducks fan and lived in So Cal, until you said Penn. I'm pretty sure a few other teams wear black and gold as well. You may want to include a state or city name to help your fellow forum member help you.

To all who feel the need.I only used the "black and gold" reference due to the level of familiarity of the PITTSBURGH Steelers. They are a team known all over the world, and recognized by their colors for one thing.I figured here in my home country the reference would be a gimme.Obviously I was mistaken.

again,sorry for your confusion....

Talk with 300SDog. He's got a motor with a spun bearing and is looking for a replacement. Also, he needs a place to do the work. Your driveway plus a used motor sounds like the perfect deal if you get the core and he gets a running car. -CTH
