Popping front end when stopping/starting

I have a 98 e300TD, there is a popping coming from the front end when I stop and occasionally when I take off. The lower control arms have been replaced with the aftermarket febi/bilstien units along with the lower ball joints. Motor mounts are new. Any ideas where to look?

Thanks,

Brian

Welcome to the forum.

How are the front sway bar links and bushings?

A shot of silicone spray on bushings and ball joints (different one each morning) might help narrow it down.

I had the same issue on my 300sd, it turned out that my guide rod ball joints had 1/2" of play.

The sway bars bushings would be the originals, with 157K on them. I'll try the spray starting tonight. I may just order some and replace anyway.

Thanks!!!
