EGR Testing is a success
After adjusting the valves this past weekend, I decided to look at the banjo bolt in the intake manifold. I disabled the EGR for testing, as advised by threads read here, and after a long term test of two years, the banjo bolt only had a "dusting" of black stuff. I that attribute to the oil vapors from the blow-by and soot left over in the intake, since I have not removed it for cleaning.
Either way, the banjo was not clogged up. Now to test with a blocking kit...

Sounds good, looks like you are on the right track. this research and development goes on for ever . Iam out in the Lab constantly improving on the mechanical inter workings of my command modual.
I was looking back through my records when we did the up grade from the cali set up back in Feb. 03. we put 81142 miles on it at the time the chain decided to let go. the intake manifold was clean inside aside from being oily. The manifold from the cali set up was caked with soot and oil etc... don`t know how it even breathed. Charlie ☺
