A/C Line Removal

I noticed that my ac line on the underside of my 123 is swollen and definitely has some leaks. I want to take it out and get it refurbished here locally. Has anyone ever taken this hose out, it looks like a real PITA to remove.

I think it needs a 22 mm wrench and another larger, maybe 24mm.

Well any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The search function works great.
Should be straight forward. Get system evacuated. Remove hose, Replace hose, Recharge system.

Yes the search function is a wonderfule tool, espically when the car that is being discussed is the same car that I own. Unfortunately this MB is not similar to my 84 300D.

No experience here guys??

The lower line is a "manifold" line that connects to the compressor and is connected to the low pressure line.

First it is expensive. Make sure the hydraulic shop can do the job. If they can't I recommend a OEM hose not the after market ones. The quality is not to good on the after market hoses.

All lines on the AC system are SAE not mertric.

Get the large Harbor Freight open end wrench set.

Second. Are you 609 Certified? If not then opening the system is not allowed. I would suggest you get 609 certified. Going through the program will teach you what you need to know to work on your system. It's not hard.
