Ideal shifting speeds
 

What are the ideal speeds at which my, 300D, tranny should shift?

That depends on how hard you're on the accelerator. At full power, it should be running out to about 4000 rpm before it shifts, which is about where the dots on the speedo are. OTOH, under a very light pedal, mine will go into 4th at 30 mph.

I haven't observed enough for my "normal" acceleration from a stop, but with a very light foot I could reach 4th gear at 25mph.

Ok that helps some. I am just trying to find out if I actually have delayed shifting. I think that I do.
I also have a flare at every shift w/ the exception of 1-2. At times I have to really try to get it to shift into the last gear, I think it is 5th?? , right?
