Again, though, tell me the condition of the veneer on the wood trim is controlled by vacuum and I’ll reach for the MityVac and look for a line to test.

LOL

On the 350SDLs the overboost system is not smart in any way, when the boost pressure gets high enough to trip the switch on the intake it grounds the switchover valve, which always has power. When the car is overboosting the system feels very strange, the power pulses as the fuel is turned up and down.

W124s activate the switchover valve when the cruise control is set. W126s do not.

Likewise, the turbo won't spool up until a certain RPM--it is about 1500-2000 in our cars (My tach is broken, sorry if this isn't exact:P) because there aren't enough exhaust gases flowing through the thing.

Of course. There is still air moving through but not enough to build pressuire. The theory being applied in the quote from easley is one you would see with gassers, not diesels.

Well, after cleaning the banjo bolt and replacing the line (I broke the line on my first turn of the ratchet it was so brittle), my car is a little--very little--more peppy. It wasn't totally clogged, so my guess is that I may be having a different problem with my fuel supply. Maybe it's the biodiesel I've been running, or maybe I've got algae from the biodiesel...I've already changed the fuel and air filters.

I'm also thinking it could be vacuum leak related to the transmission. The car shifts before getting to 2200 rpm every gear. Seems like it should shift higher?

Ah, the joy of trouble shooting...

Adjust your bowden cable. Do some searching.

So I cleaned the OPR and replaced the line that goes to the banjo bolt. I'd say I've got noticeably better performance. After doing that, I replaced all my injectors and took the car in for a valve adjustment. Now I'm really Rockin'! No seriously, the car shakes too much still, but I've got great power. I might still follow advice and get rid of some of the vacuum components like the EGR...Thanks for the post and advice.
