Recovering arm rest - where can I buy material?
 

I have been looking for a good used armrest for a while, w/o any luck. I am going to try and recover it at a local upholstery shop.

Anyone ever had this done? Where can I buy the MB tex vinyl? I think I have Palamino ('78 300D).

I was told that the cover was available as a replacement part from M-B, don't know if it is true or still available.

I believe Performance sells replacement arm rest covers in a variety of colors.

Bring it in to an upholstery shop. They should be able to match it up, pretty close. They may even have some scrap instock. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 yard at the most.

ebay has sellers that sell just the arm rest covers in new mb tex.

Too bad you don't have #265 Mushroom interior, I just bought a good armrest and it isn't the type for a w126 SEC, but came from a sedan. It is very close but the mounting ring with the locking notch is different or it'd be on my SEC.
Anyone need one? I'll let it go at my cost. PM me.

Try World Upholstery. They don't list prices on their site, unfortunately, so you'll have to call them. I guess you want "FOLDING FRONT CENTER ARMREST COVER".
