What's The P/N for 300td Rear/Quarter Window Trim Clips?

Y'all,

I'm trying to determine the P/N for the rear window trim clips on a 300td, as shown below (thanks to Chad300tdt and this post of his):

The clips on mine are in much worse shape and are not reusable. I can't find the P/N on either the detali.ru site or at the online EPC.

Thanks in advance for your assistance! Now, the second issue is whether they're available...

Thanks,
Shawn

Take a cordless drill to a junkyard and drill out the rivets to get a few clips. Some of my clips were in pretty bad shape. I soaked them in metal prep and painted them before riveting them back in place. I also needed to squeeze them with a pliers to close the clip more since they bent open a bit when I was prying the trim off.

I'd be interested in knowing where to buy new ones too.

Ah, but there'd have to be a 300td in the yard first.

It looks like the trim on the doors might be attached the same way. Maybe you could find them on a sedan?

Nope, it's not the same. The door trim is held on by a W-shaped piece that goes over the top of the door skin and holds the trim on the outside and the door squeegee on the inside.

Do you have pics of that? I want to replace those squeegees on mine but haven't tried to figure out how to do it yet.

(Sorry for hijacking ... PM me if you prefer)

No problem with the hijacking.

Sorry, but I'm not a "Take pics of every part I touch and post them on the board" (or "Here's a video of my engine starting -- exciting!") kind of guy.

Basically, imagine the top edge of the door skin -- about 1/2" tall, two sheetmetal thicknesses wide. The clip fits over this, like a lazy W straddling a fence, but with the W being three Us put together. The outside U holds the aluminum trim, the inside U holds the squeegee. I simply pulled the squeegee up with pliers, then used a large screwdriver to flex the inside U so the upside down U over the door skin edge was spread apart, then pulled up (going down the line a little bit at a time).

I do have to do the front squeegees, so I'll try to remember to take pics for you.

Thanks Shawn, your description makes it more clear. I think I could handle it based on that. But ... if you remember pics when you do the fronts, that would be cool.

If you could let me know when you do -- I'll see what I can cook up in the meantime.
