First time under the Benz...success!
Today was my first day working under my '95 E300D since its purchase in late January. My work wasn't anything too complicated. I replaced my front flex disc, changed fluids, and filters.
I was dreading the flex disc replacement after reading some posts here and my experience with other vehicles. The job really wasn't bad at all. Having access to a lift makes a huge difference in getting at what you are repairing. Nevertheless, I still was pleased at the accessibility of the fasteners holding the flex disc in place. I am very impressed with the overall design and ease of maintenance of the Mercedes. I have never seen a car like it. I know that I am preaching to the choir, but I am now a Mercedes believer. I don't know what took me so long to get to this point. |
Did you replace the rear flex disk as well?
But, good job, and think of all the money to be saved and satisfaction of a job well done when you DIY! |
No, but I checked rear disc out really well. I doesn't look very old and it feels good and tight. My brother was snooping around the rear axle while I was working up front and it must have passed his test, too. The rear flex disc looks like an easy job when the time comes.
