Noise inside dash
Howdy Guys,
My 1985 300SD is keeping me busy. Idler arm bushing replacement , seat stuffing and oil cooler hoses are some of my most recent triumphs. However, I clearly hear a "fan-like" noise from the passenger side of my dash when I turn the ignition. The noise remains as I drive. I could identiify the noise by pulling fuses but I bet one of my commrades has dealt with this gremlin and can provide insight. Gentlemen, any ideas before I rip out the glove box and dash trim? Might the 1985 300SD have a fan like the 1987 300D has, for pulling a little air past the in-car temp sensor for the climate control? My 87 has one, behind the dash in the glove box area, and it can be heard when the key switch is turned on.

Thanks Jeremy,
Sounds like i should learn to live with it or disconnect the fan/sensor arrangement and risk destabilizing the A/C. joe |
