300SD Remote Starter
I am going to attempt a valve adjustment this weekend and figured I would try using a remote starter.
From what I have seen I connect the wires to the terminals on either end of the strip near the right wheel, correct? I also was wondering if there is something I need to disconnect (electrical or fuel related) to prevent the engine from starting when using the remote starter. Thanks for the help

you would have to keep the STOP lever depressed or do something so that mechanical linkage is pushed to the STOP position

That's what I would think, but I assume I'm going to have all of it removed with the valve cover. I saw the last mechanic that adjusted them use one of these to rotate the cam.
Would it hurt anything to crank the engine with the fuel feed line disconnected?

I have always found that I am turning the engine such a small amount at a time that it doesn't have time to start plus I'm doing it on a cold engine with out the glow plugs coming on so no problem. When I do the valve adjustment I always stand on the drivers side and use a remote starter so if it did start I'm right there by the shut off lever.

No harm in turning over with the fuel feed disconnected but remember there is enough fuel in the system that it'll start and run for quite a few seconds just on the filter-full even if the tank line is disconnected.
