Adla adjustment question
which way to turn for better fuel effiecny and which way for performance, i always get those mixed up...
thx |
Counter-clockwise to add more fuel at low rpm's.
You won't get any more efficiency by turning it clockwise...........the vehicle will just feel slower off the line. |
I agree with Brian. One of my '87s I drove home 1200miles with an in-op overboost-relay (no boost enrichment which is like maximum ALDA limit), fixed it all, and get better fuel mileage with the system boosting/enriching properly (highway mileage). No magic fuel mileage improvement will be had by clockwise/lean adjustment to the ALDA.

You right foot is what controls economy and performance, the ALDA only prevents black smoke out the tailpipe if you mash the throttle off the line.
I have no ALDA at all (the same as turning it all the way out) and still manage 26+mpg average and I've seen as high as 29.5mpg. |
