what size parallel condenser? 85 300SD

I ordered a parallel condenser from ackits (14X26.50) but my ac guy says it won't fit and ackits say they are out of the smaller 12X24 and don't know what does fit. What size has anyone used to fit 85 300SD? And any source. Thanks.

Hmmm........the stock condenser is 16x26. Maybe he is talking about the hose connections. Here is a thread about some folks with experience:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=125861&highlight=ackits.com

Thanks for the ref. He used a condenser from acsource.net that has the hose connects coming out the right way, that is towards the drivers headlight instead of towards the front of the car as all the ones from ackits.com do. I'll order the one that your ref used. Thanks again.

CORRECTION
New info. The condensers from ackits do come out towards the headlight. I just have to have a narrower one. My ac guy and I were having a failure to communicate on the orientation.

I purchases a 14.5 x 26.5 from ackits on my SD and it fits fine. In fact I wish it was a bit taller (more along the lines of 16"). I used 90 degree fittings which makes it fit easier.

I have it ziptied in right now and should get it officially mounted this weekend.

GRAPLR How did you get a 90 degree fitting on the condenser? Did you cut off part of the nipple and have a fitting welded on or what? Thanks

No. The condenser has a #6 and a #8 male fittings. Just buy a 90 degree #6 and a 90 degree #8 (female that screw onto them).
When I order from ackits I just told them this and they added it to my order.

You can find them on this page. I attached a pic so you know what they look like.

BTW- Order over the phone. My condenser cost $15 less by phone than their advertised internet price.
