Those are pretty cool, basically a pre-war design. There is a gasser of that vintage that always shoes up at a local show in denver.

I need to look this guy up. A nice XKE and TR6 parked on either side; he has some taste.

It looks very nice. I wonder about the price. I cannot imagine its worth that much.

Agreed. That's a pretty specialized car, how many MB diesel fans have 50k lying around to spend on this very slow, non-air conditioned car. I could think of plenty of other collector Mercedes I would spend 60k on. I imagine he is not in any kind of hurry to sell it.

Just beautiful. If I win the lottery this week I am in big time.

Shame there are no engine pics. I would love to get some good looks at that motor....

its like 37 hp. I saw one up close when I went to look at a 240d up north from here. Lovely lines. It would make a great candidate for a late model diesel engine. The body parts are expensive though and very very few exist in the US so the possibility of salvage parts is slim.

Stock it would be good for toodling around town though on days not too hot.

Maybe for $20k....not 50 something....at least not for me.

I'm actually surprised it not significantly more money, there are no to many of those left around. Whoever buys it will just trailer it to shows anyway.

There was one at the PVGP last summer. He was about 3 cars behind me getting ready for the parade lap before the races started, until Bobby Rahal asked him to move towards the front after the 190's. Pictures here: http://www.pvgp.org/6746108221812390/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=53151 in the slide show I'm in picture 7 in my CD.

Probably more literally than figuratively

Compared to how much muscle cars are worth, which is nuts I'm suprised this isn't going for more. It was a base MB though, a 540K is worth far more.
