Another one follows me home

I seem to find lost Mercedes 300D's. This is almost Alex's twin. It's an 82, Astral Silver over Blue tex. 286k miles. Windows work, sunroof works, and gosh the boom in the trunk. I saw 7 JL Audio woofers back there. My ears were thumping. Pics coming tonight, when I get home. Shame I can't keep it. Some things I've noticed so far: Locks don't, tach doesn't count much, air blows out the same vents. Did I mention the boom in the trunk?

As promised, pics. Oh, here's an update. There are only 6 subs, vice 7. Speedo does not work, nor does tach. Tried two different clusters with same results. Thinking cable. Dash lights and rheostat work. AC is dead. Needs shifter bushings. Overboost is not hooked up, line goes straight from intake to alda. That's gonna get fixed real soon. Needs an air filter, and the new style breather hose. Needs some vac hose. Brakes shake a little, could be from sitting. Driver seat soft. Have not checked cruise yet. Power antenna is broken. Says Diesel vice Turbodiesel on trunklid.

Has the right front fender been replaced? It looks slightly different from the rest of that side.

And the bottom edge trim is missing.

Is that BLUE interior? Let me know if you need anything. I've got a blue interior sitting in my garage.

Ditto, I don't see enough room there for a hefty tool bag.

6 subs? I bet his neighbors are glad to see it go.

Probably some @$$hole that stole his stereo at some point. They like to rip out/bend/break shifters, cause they don't realize that it can be moved without the keys (ask how I know)... But I guess that's better than finding your car down the street after it has rolled there from being in nuetral.

I'll try to hit up everything. I saw an APC shifter handle in the glove box, so I think he was trying to take the old one off the wrong way to put the POS on there. I threw the APC one in the trash. It's getting the one out of Butterball. Yes, the fender has been replaced, I saw that when I noticed that it was the only one without the gaggy chrome wheel arch trim on it. Not sure if I'm going to pull the others off or not. I have the small piece of trim at the bottom, just haven't put it back on. (very observant)
The trunk, what can we say. I am removing the stuff tomorrow after work (someone here wants to hear it) to be able to see under it and find out what else it holds. Who needs milk when you have bass?? LOL So far I have an Armorall gift box (not that I use the crap) and some cleaner, and there was a skull cap, but it's garbage now. Looks like there is about $5.00 in change in the console.
Blue interior,, the only thing I need is the driver front carpet and the first aid box (kit not required). I figure you want to sell the complete interior, which I don't need.

I really think I enjoy this part best, going through everything and fixing what is not working. I'll let you know if I find guns or anything interesting in there.

UPDATE: 5-29 Last night I changed the speedo cable, and it works now. Fantastic. Drove the car to work, and it ran and drove fine. I'm not going to drive it any further til I replace the flex discs though. I can't sell a car with those being bad, I'd feel terrible if one broke on the new owner. Changed fuel filters, and air filter. Next is an oil change after the valve adjustment.
