refridgerant charge r134 300sd

Does anyone have a good number for the initial refridgerant charge of r134, after a conversion for a 1985 300sd? I have seen figures from 70-90% of r-12 and I am trying to narrow that down. According to my calculations thats between 910g-1170g. Any special technics (max pressure @ rpm?)

I have seen closer to 75-80% of the R12 charge when using R134a. I will be charging my 84 SD soon (with a parallel flow condenser) for the first time and am planning on using 36oz (3 cans) plus just a tad extra. Checking my pressures the whole way. We'll see where I end up.

Thumbs up

80% or less. 134A is trash in these vehicles. Just stick with R12, it's cheap, all over, and easy to get.
