300D turbo Compressor question (Kilma)

Ok, i've been doing some research on my a/c compressor intermittently
cutting off.

It just started a few days ago. The a/c compressor clutch will stop spinning, and of course cause the a/c to not work. BUT! I've discovered, if i spin the a/c clutch by hand a few turns then turn the car on and engage the a/c. IT MYSTERIOUSLY WORKS! Well, for at least a day or so, then it's back to NOT engaging.

I've done some searching on the site, and the "Kilma" switch kept popping up.

Is there some sort of a sticky on Kilma troubleshooting? I searched every variation i could, found alot of people talking about results from toying with the kilma relay, but not much on the location of the sucker and or HOW to troubleshoot at home.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is nothing mysterious about it.

When the Klima senses a fault such as a speed discrepancy between the compressor and the engine, it dumps the compressor. When you cycle the ignition, the Klima comes back online and the same process is repeated.

You'll need the climate control manual to troubleshoot the system and determine which component is at fault and causing the Klima to drop out.

If the belt slips for any reason whatsoever, the Klima will immediately drop the compressor.

Wow, thats good to know. That belt was looking a little abused, i even found a small TEAR in one spot.

I'll start with the belt for sure. Thanks for the input.

Yep, a worn belt can certainly cause that issue.

Klima

It's behind the "Plastico" cover behind the Battery(The EDS ,and OVP relay also
live there...Great place for electronics[At least the fuse box is semi-watertight])

BC is correct it's a complicated little journey for the Electrons to successfully
complete so that you might enjoy "Angel's Breath".

The schematic is from the '90-'91 model ,but yours is similar.
