W210 - 38F at the left-side center vent
Yep, your eyes are not deceiving you. I saw 38F in the left-side center vent on my car today.
This is with both controls set to LO, fan on medium, recirculate off, and an ambient temperature of about 90F. Driving 55 MPH gets me 44F at that vent, but when I come to a stop, it drops to 38F. There is no longer any discernible difference in temperature between the two sides of the center vent. My car was suffering from a plugged dryer, causing very poor performance. It was clearly the dryer because the outlet pipe was rather cold to the touch; that line should be hot. I replaced the dryer and condenser, and flushed the rest of the system. I flushed the evaporator and lines with AC flush solvent using a HECAT pulsating flush gun, and flushed the compressor with about 64oz of DEC PAG-46 oil. I'm not sure when I'll have the opportunity to use the nifty flush gun or the vacuum pump again, but it would have probably cost more than the price of the tools to have the work I did done at a shop. I did pay to have my old refrigerant analyzed for contamination, then reclaimed. And now I know for sure what is in there. Nothing but DEC PAG-46 and pure 134a. |

Following your criteria I got 41f at left vent and 37f at both center vents on fan speed 4 at 79f ambient temp. Too darn cold for me......

Are you seriously complaining about M-B air conditioning being too cold?
