Oil leak above brake pedal

Greetings all!
This is my first post here, so I wanted to say hi and get a little help at the same time.
I'm a Dodge Cummins guy most of the time, but I've also got a 1980 MB 300D in the family that my dad drives most of the time.
It developed an oil leak somewhere above the brake pedal. The brake pedal is now covered with oil, as well as the floor mat. It will drip a drop or two on your foot while driving. I usually drive barefoot now
Can anyone direct me to some information on what exactly might need to be replaced/resealed/fixed up in there?
Thanks in advance!

YOu have a leaking oil pressure gauge. You may have to replace the gauge, but you could try tightening the fitting first.

I vote for a failed diaphragm on the rear of the injector pump, vacuum pulling oil or D2into the vacuum valve that's part of the keyswitch.

That would not cause an oil leak into the car, it would only contaminate the vacuum system.

The oil leak is going to be something related to the oil ressure gauge. Either the oil line or the bourdon tube is cracked.

Yes, sadly it will cause a leak into the car that will end up on your right shin. Care to ask me how I can be so sure?
It leaks from the vacuum switch on the ignition assembly.
Your oil pressure gauge is the most likely, though. At the firewall you need to push in a little slack in the speedo cable, then with the driver's lower kick panel removed you just push the cluster out from underneath and behind. It will only come out a tad, but you can try and clean up the area and tighten the fitting. Then you can quickly diagnose your leak location by starting it up with the cluster pulled out and watching. Have your drip towel ready........
