These items do what?????

Hello,

Two more... First, a plastic gadget on the valve cover that connects with throttle linkages and has what looks like a vacuum valve that it actuates.

Second, this device on the IP which looks as if it should have a hose connected to it... Its kind of in the spot where I suppose the ALDA would be on a 300D-T, but of course, no turbo. And, IIRC, the ALDA is connected via the boost controller and the banjo bolt, in a way that senses boost to provide enrichment. No such need here.

Is this some sort of "automatic altitude correcting device"???

First is for the transmission, it alters how smoothly it shifts.

The second is the altitude correction, nothing should be connected to that tube.

OK, so the first is not unlike the setup that is found on the 300D cars, only the vacuum items are more exposed (not under a black cover, hidden away).

Thanks again for all of your assistance!

It is a fuel water separator device, actually.

The car obviously sat a lot given its low mileage, maybe clogging of filters was an issue, or condensation in the tank...

I very well might delete that item (or enlarge the bracket) and install a bypass oil filtration unit to keep my engine more sound for longer...

The pictures are taken on a Nikon Digital SLR - a D300, with a 24-120 VR nikkor lens. I chop them to size in photoshop so they are quick to upload and download.

P.S. Where did you get all of that info you pasted in???

I put your VIN into here: http://old.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng
Your vin is visible on the firewall of the heater valve picture.

Hey, you have a bypass... Did you put up a thread or website highlighting what you did to install? I am an amsoil dealer and can get the parts on discount, but learning from what others have done is most useful!

Thanks!!

I basically tapped the oil filter lid, mounted an EaBP90 filter and plumbed the return into the valve cover.
