Flare Nut Size- Brake Hardline 85300td

I'm separated from my poor car which is up on blocks ready for a new rear brake hardline (from mast. cyl to axle). Can anyone please help me out and give me the proper size of the flare nuts on this line so I can go buy the right wrenches. Thanks

The hard line uses 11mm and the rubber brake lines use 17mm.

I bought this set from SEARS:

Great, would you suggest buying 2 11-mm wrenches for taking off the flare nuts on the hard line. Sorry for all the dumb questions but I don't have my car near to take a look at the set up of the flare nut connections.

Not unless you plan on breaking the first one.

I agree with tangofox, you don't need two 11mm wrenches. You need the 11mm and the 17mm at the same time to remove the rubber brake hoses from the hard line.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm only replacing the hard line from the master cyl to the rear "T". So I guess I'll only need 11mm flare nut. Plus, I think I already have a 17mm flare nut...isn't that the size for the injector hard lines??

I don't know about the injector line off the top of my head. You'll be fine with one wrench at the "T". I used an adjustable wrench on the "T" to keep it stable while loosening the flare nut. I didn't trust the screws that held the "T" in the body.

thanks Chad, and btw thanks for your help on the SLS repair a month ago or so. I spliced out the rotted section of sls using some compression fitting from swagelock and it is working great. As long as I have your attention (and since you have experience on wagons too!)..are there any tricks for getting that brake hardline routed. It looks pretty easy, but any hang up I should know about? Thanks a lot

Cool, I'm keeping that swagelock site bookmarked for the future. They seem easier to deal with than making bubble flares.

I didn't need to replace my hard lines when I overhauled my brakes, so I can't offer any tips on that. I will say that most things look easier than they actually end up being.

Good luck.
