W124 300D injector pump fuel leak
Dear All,
I have a fuel leak on top of the diesel injection pump (1987 W124 300DT) and unfortunately it is not where the metal hoses are attached to the stubs but where the stubs are inserted into the pump. I went a a junkyard where I found a partially destroyed injection pump so I tried to remove one of these studs. The star-like holder pieces come off easily but the studs do not come out. Do they twist out, or "pull" out? If they twist, are they regular right handed? I will need a Mercedes tool to remove them, right? Is there anything I should pay extra attention to (e.g., their exact position?)? Any hints or advises (please do not offend me with saying - go to a mechanic)? Best, Greg

Sounds like your delivery valves are leaking. I just helped a member here do them on a OM602 this weekend. You'll need the tool, new O Rings (less than a dollar), and copper washers if you desire.
The delivery valve holders twist out but you need the right tool to do that. Do not destroy the splines by using vise grips or pliers.
