You Have Two motor mounts. No Engine shocks.

The 602.962 in the 124.128 chassis did not have shock absorbers on the engine.

You do have A Very Special "Shock" and "Spring" arrangement that tensions the
serpentine belt on the front of the engine.

engined W124 chassis and the 6 cylinder 603.xxx engined W124 chassis...
There are differences.)

You will want to save all three of these links for future reference!

rough idle

How many miles do you have on the car? From what I've learned here about my 300D is the motor mounts generally last 90-100K miles. If they haven't been done, change them. It's an easy job. If it's still a little rough, it may be time for your injector nozzles to be done. Also check your return lines on the injectors--if they're wet, air my be getting into the system. IP timing can also affect how it runs.

That's the steering damper.

it has 212,000 miles on it. I bought it when it had 187,000. So I dont know if the motor mounts have ever been changed.

It's fairly smooth when engine is cold and in park or Nutural. But when i put it in Reverse it vibrates or when in Drive whith my foot on the brake. When I'm at raod speed or highway seep it is fine.

open the hood when the motor is running, put on the parking brake, one foot on the brake, then push down on the gas a little and notice how much the motor lifts. Try in reverse too. If it's twisting much, chances the mounts are bad.

engine mounts

If I were to buy engine mounts from Fastlane they have one for $36.00 one for $70.00 and one for $92.00. I'm thinking the $70.00 one would be good?
