15-Pin Connector 84 300D Turbo

Gents,

I made the unfortunate mistake of opening the 15-Pin connector on the back of my W123 (1984 300D Turbo) instrument panel. I need a diagram for my panel that is similar to the one below. Any clues where to get one quickly?

This one came from speedy300DTurbo back in 2005 apparently for a W124 panel.

Attached is from the FSM, CD-ROM version, 1984 300D-T (W123, OM617). At least it shows the wire colors so you should be able to put the plug back together.

Jeremy,

Thanks loads for the quick response. I'll put it to use immediately. Interestingly, it shows a pinout for pin 9 but there is not a ninth pin on the back of my instrument panel. Maybe it is used on gassers. I'll provide feedback on my success or failure.

* I apologize to all for the "full size" image post. Didn't know how to post a thumbnail and wanted the info to be available to someone searching and finding this particular post.

Thumbs up 15-Pin Diagram Worked

Pinout Diagram worked perfect. Thanks again Jeremy.

The original work was an attempt to correct a flaky Fuel Gauge and Temp Gauge. After much trial and error, I attempted to check the pin sockets on the 15-pin connector. I Planned on pinching each of them a bit to ensure good contact. When I opened it up, poof, wires everywhere and no diagram to get them back in order.

Both the fuel gauge and temp gauge would alternate between working properly, pegging out at the top, and not working at all. Even worse, sometimes they would both read higher than actual. Not a big deal with the temp gauge because it was still indicating a temp within range. However, I sputtered into a gas station on fumes more than once when the fuel gauge indicated more than actual.

It all seemed to start after I replaced some instrument panel bulbs. Pushing on the instrument panel would sometimes correct the problem temporarily. After much time, sweat and black oil all over the place (started the engine once without the oil pressure hose connected), I finally detected a hairline crack in the PC board of the panel (too much removing and replacing the instrument panel probably). The crack explains why it would work intermittently with pushing on the instrument panel.

I found the tracings that were affected by the crack, sanded them off with an emery board and then soldered along the cracks on the tracings to restore good contact.

Problem solved, other than the oil stains in the carpet and a dash panel below the instrument cluster that looks like it has been chewed from prying and re-prying the instrument panel out.

Thanks again to Jeremy for the quick post up.
