Rear SLS Suspension - 1987 300TDT

I am doing the rear SLS suspension on my station wagon soon and I want to do it right. I am getting overwhelmed with all of the parts back here so I need someone to help me review what I need to do this job right.

Your experience from past installation or just general knowledge here is what I am looking for. I am looking to purchase a list of parts from BuyMBParts but I do not want to order more than once (free shipping is my bet on this order).

Here is a list of what I do have:
  1. (2) Rear SLS (Non-Leaking) Struts from a 91 300TE
    1. Thanks to David W.
  2. (2) Accumulators

Here is a list of what I need to purchase (which is where I need your help):
  1. (2) Control Arm Bushings?...
  2. Control Arm Stay?

What else needs to be replaced back there, if you look on the BuyMBParts section for my particular vehicle there are tons of bushings and parts; I assume they all need replacing but is this everything I need? Do they sell an entire bush kit that I missing?

Thanks for your time,

- Frank

P.S. I just realized; I am going to need to do a Hydrolic Flush on the system and I do not see the Hyrdolic Fluid in the Suspension section of BuyMBParts... Am I just missing it? Do I have to buy that from the dealer?

Here is a photo of the strut, and the reason why I am doing all of this work

Does it raise and lower when loaded and unloaded like it is supposed to? If not, the valve body may need rebuilding. I don't know if it is the same as my 1981 wagon, but there was a rebuild kit for it, and it was pretty easy to do. Take pictures when taking apart the valve body, and screw in the fluid line on the valve body a couple of turns first (it is aluminum and strips very easily), then screw into the accumulators. When everything is right, the ride is like no other!

Valve

I think I can get you a valve if you need one; also maybe a SLS reservoir.

I am pretty sure it does; I have never seen the back squat so to speak; the reason I am doing this rebuilding if you will is because the pass. side rear strut leaks.

Does the SLS raise when the car is off or only when it is on?

I wish I could find the time to dive into this project on my own but that will only happen if I find a fellow MB owner with the experiance, who wants to make some extra cash and pass on his experience! I am collecting parts to have a trusted shop do the work for me, this is my daily driver so I can not have it out of commission while they get parts.

But hey if you live in NJ and am willing to take a crack at this I am more than willing to learn how and do the dirty work and there will be something in it for you besides the friendship lol.

Why not just replace the strut(s)? Are you sure it's the strut that's leaking and not the line?
Are there other problems you are trying to fix other than a leaking strut?

@Kerry - Yeah I am pretty sure it is the strut, I added a picture to the original thread so everyone can see why I am doing this; I actually failed inspection because of this strut. (yay).

I am not trying to fix any other issues, just trying to do the job right; I figured the new Accumulators would help the ride, replace the bushings that look shot (but how many are there?).
